Papers of the “Institute of Hydrobiology and Ecology”

The Institution “Institute of Hydrobiology and Ecology” (IHE) was established in 2006. Over the years of work, IHE developed biological justifications of fishery management in Almaty, Zhambyl Regions, in a number of specially protected natural areas (SPNA) of national significance: in wildlife sanctuaries – Markakol and Korgalzhynsk, in the state national natural parks - Kokshetau, Bayanaul, Burabay, Katon-Karagay, Karkaralinsk, Kolsay-Kolderi, in Altyn-Dala State natural wildlife reserve. The results of it are as follows: recommendations development about preservation and steady use of fish resources of reservoirs of specially protected natural areas (SPNA), determination of fishing volumes for development of amateur (sports) fishery, for local population needs, reproduction purposes and meliorative fishing. IHE also participated in the development of "General scheme of complex use and protection of water resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (section Fishery), developed a number of normative legal acts for the Committee for the Fishing Industry of the Ministry of Agriculture of the RK - for preservation of rare and endangered species of fish, creation of fish-breeding enterprises and a technique of payment rates for bio resources. Since 2015, according to the decree of the Ministry of Agriculture of the RK, IHE, together with Kazakh Research Institute of Fishery executes the project on studying and preservation of the Caspian seal.

Results of researches, except reporting materials, are reflected in scientific publications. However, unfortunately, the majority of analytical materials remains unpublished, but eventually their value will be increased upon conducting environment monitoring, biodiversity studying, development of statutes and regulations. For the elimination of shortcomings, "Works of the Institute of Hydrobiology and Ecology" subdivided into thematic volumes are issued where the interested reader will be able to find all materials, which have formed a basis for covering a certain topic.
